We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Project & Business Development Lead, specializing in the renewable energy sector with a specific focus on wind, solar, and battery storage projects. In this role, you will have the responsibility to drive business, establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with local decision-makers, overseeing energy trading activities, and providing valuable market intelligence and insights. 

What you will do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business expansion strategy for the renewable energy sector, with a primary focus on wind and solar power, and later-stage battery storage.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with key local decision-makers, including government officials, regulatory bodies, utility companies, and potential partners in the renewable energy sector.
• Conduct thorough market analysis, including assessing market dynamics, competitive landscape, and identifying potential business opportunities for growth.
• Oversee energy trading activities, including managing contracts, negotiations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead and oversee the development of renewable energy projects, from inception to execution, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement long-term strategic plans, aligned with the company's goals and objectives, to maximize business opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
• Conduct financial analysis and evaluation of potential projects, including ROI assessments, profitability analysis, and risk assessment.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Engage with various stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, and community groups, to promote and advocate for renewable energy projects.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations on business development activities, project progress, and financial performance for senior management and stakeholders.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, economics, or engineering. A master's degree in a related field is desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a strong focus on wind and solar power.
• Deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, including market trends, policy and regulatory frameworks, project development, and investment considerations.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills to establish and maintain relationships
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate financial data, perform market analysis, and assess project feasibility.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
