To have the biggest impact, we target markets that are underserved by capital and renewable expertise, by a team with a long history in successful development and construction of major renewable projects.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of M&A to lead our Mergers and Acquisitions team. This role presents a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and success of our organization within the dynamic renewable energy industry.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
1. M&A Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive M&A strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives and growth targets.
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets, partnerships, and investment opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
2. Deal Structuring and Negotiation:
- Lead the end-to-end deal process, including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and negotiations.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and other cross-functional teams to structure and negotiate complex transactions.
3. Financial Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including valuation modeling, to assess the financial viability and strategic fit of potential acquisitions.
- Provide insights into financial risks and returns associated with M&A activities.
4. Market Research and Analysis:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes that may impact M&A opportunities.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging technologies, competitors, and potential synergies.
5. Stakeholder Management:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential acquisition targets, industry partners, and financial institutions.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to present M&A strategies and recommendations.
6. Integration Planning:
- Develop integration plans for successful post-merger integration, collaborating with operational and functional teams to ensure a seamless transition.
- Monitor and report on the progress of integration activities, addressing any challenges that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
- Proven experience in leading M&A transactions within the renewable energy or related industries.
- Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in deal structuring and negotiation.
- In-depth knowledge of the renewable energy market, including technologies, regulatory frameworks, and industry dynamics.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
