DRI is expanding its business operations on Croatian energy market. DRI develops a portfolio of wind and PV projects with a total capacity of 250 MW, and is in continuous search for further opportunities to increase it from both green field and by acquiring mid to RTB stage projects on the market. For strengthening the team, DRI is searching for a Construction Manager, Substations & Grids to be focused on construction of 400/110/35 kV substations under the current portfolio of DRI’s projects in Croatia together with the future opportunities to be delivered by development and M&A teams. Construction Manager, Substations & Grids will act as a manager on-site, coordinating all activities related to the development and construction of HV and mid-voltage substations and grid lines on DRI’s projects in Croatia, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, budget and project timelines.
The ideal applicant will have over 5 years+ of experience within a similar role with TSO, DSO, construction contractor or IPP. The location of the position will be in the company’s office in Zagreb with a need of regular business trips to the location inside Croatia and occasionally outside.
What you will do:
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of substation and grid part in renewable energy projects, including site selection, permitting, construction, and commissioning.
- Stakeholder Management: Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including project developers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, government agencies, landowners, and local communities to ensure smooth project implementation and address any concerns or issues.
- Safety and Environmental Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations on-site, ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to all applicable laws and standards.
- Procurement and Quality Control:P Take part in the procurement process of DRI, oversee quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle, including material procurement, construction activities, and equipment installation, to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and schedule adherence.
- Operational Excellence: Manage substation and grid infrastructure post-construction, including maintenance, performance monitoring, and optimization to maximize energy production and asset value.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports, financial forecasts, and other project documentation for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, enhance project efficiency, and achieve business objectives in line with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
What you bring:
- Education degree (bachelor or master) in electrical engineering or project management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HV and/or mid-voltage substation project implementation, preferably in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on solar or wind projects.
- Sound knowledge of renewable energy technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in project management software, MS Office Suite, and other relevant tools
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) and/or renewable energy (e.g., REPM) is a plus.
