To have the biggest impact, we target markets that are underserved by capital and renewable expertise, by a team with a long history in successful development and construction of major renewable projects.
DRI is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the procurement process for renewable energy projects, ensuring cost-efficient and sustainable sourcing of materials, services, and equipment. The Procurement Manager will work closely with project management, engineering, and supply chain teams to align procurement strategies with company goals and industry best practices.
What you will do
- Leading project-specific procurement process of all required goods, works, and services for renewable projects (Solar, Wind, Energy Storage), from market consultation up to handover.
- Organize and run tender bidding processes in accordance with the internal regulations and rules for DRI's projects in Onshore Wind, PV, and BESS.
- Closely align and collaborate with Engineering and Construction departments to ensure optimal schedule performance and right technology selection for DRI company's projects under realization stage.
- Support development and operations department with sourcing and procurement activities.
- Attend fairs and events to obtain market knowledge, cooperation with Tier 1 equipment suppliers and key companies (EPC and BoP).
- Maintain strategic supplier relationship management with key suppliers and contractors, managing multi-year and multi-project framework agreements and best-in-class commercial terms.
- Ensure that all relevant sourcing/procurement processes, work instructions, and guidelines are followed within the project as well as ensure compliance with Corporate Instructions, Legal, Financial, and Quality directives.
- Establish best-in-class technology/price forecasting tools (accurate Capex estimation) to maximize project economics for greenfield development/M&A projects.
- Monitor supplier and vendor on-time delivery, track delays and manage claims.
- Monitor and evaluate the risk of geopolitical and regulatory factors that impact the supply chain and develop mitigation and/or contingency procurement strategies.
- Provide quarterly updates to the business for equipment and services market trends.
- Steer the project teams through the procurement process.
- Able to support, advise, guide, and challenge across all aspects of Procurement.
- Challenge project team in case of perceived over/under specification of technical, commercial, or legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Legal, Financial, Quality, and EHS rules for the project and Company.
- Direct sourcing strategy for cost, vendors panel, on-time PO placement, on-time delivery, and execution of services.
- Accountable for implementing savings and the best possible cash flow for sourcing.
- Lead technical/commercial supplier/contractor due diligence processes, competitive RFPs, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Understand the commercial part of the supply and construction contracts, as well as operation and maintenance contracts, TSA, TIA, and O&M contracts, and ensure their flow-down terms into Purchase Orders and project subcontracts.
What you bring
- Educated with a degree in a related discipline such as supply chain, legal, engineering, or technical.
- Experience (>5 years) from within the Renewable Energy industry or any other Energy industry, preferably with a Wind and/or Solar Energy developer/investor and/or construction of large infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work in a multifunctional team, taking into account the specificities of different European countries, as well as independence and responsibility for the final result.
- Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers in solar, wind, and energy storage direction, EPC and construction companies.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with ability to perform in a dynamic and collaborative working environment.
- Solid experience with FIDIC Forms of Contract. Knowledge of EU tender rules applicable in various countries and good understanding of commercial/regulatory risks.
- Able to work under tight deadlines in a competitive environment.
- Strong understanding of finance and commercial implications on the global energy market.
- Risk management knowledge.
- Experienced at liaising and managing relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed communication skills, especially report writing and the analysis and presentation of complex technical issues in a clear, concise format.
- Experience leading commercial contract negotiations of TSAs, TIAs, MSAs and EPC agreements.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, manage relationships with clients, colleagues, consultants, and contractors.
- Proven investor-side experience and strong track record in supply chain/procurement management and contract administration.
- Proven experience and track record of contract administration.
- Self-starter with ability to increase performance and deliver results.
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as autonomously.
- Ability to think strategically and possess decisive decision-making skills.
- Hands-on approach: proactively involved, pragmatic and factual attitude with ability to establish and implement procedures and processes.
